Before Conception

Laura's belief is that when children have all of the tools they need, and their health is intact, they can be free to learn, explore, and grow without restrictions. For Laura, pre-natal care begins at just the thought of conception, or, in an ideal world, 3 to 6 months before conception.  The idea is that there are things you can do to prepare both you and your partner’s bodies to help improve the chances of conception, the healthy maintenance of a pregnancy, and bring a healthy baby into this world. If troubles arise, then we have a head start to finding the root cause of the problem, and work towards a solution right away.

Laura also provides recommendations for contraception options, assisting your body from transitioning off of birth control, regulating your menstrual cycle, prenatal supplementation, as well as for the improvement of sperm parameters including motility, morphology, and count.

During Pregnancy

After conception, Laura works with the birthing parent to ensure that they are receiving adequate nutrition and any supplementation necessary to promote healthy development. She helps you to make informed decisions along your journey, answer any questions you may have, and work to provide safe and appropriate support through  naturopathic therapies for any problems that may arise during the pregnancy.

  • Prenatal supplements

  • Morning sickness

  • Heartburn

  • Acute conditions

  • Education & preparation

Leading up to the birth, support can also be provided as a Naturopathic Doula, in addition to individualized care around Lactation both before and after the birth.  The goal is to support the birthing parents in whatever capacity they may need, and help to give your new or growing family the best possible start you can get!

Post-natal Care

While the pregnancy portion may be over, that is only just the beginning! Support can be provided around helping you transition to your "new-normal" and any challenges that may arise, including, but not limited to:

  • Lactation support

  • Mood changes in the postpartum period

  • Fatigue, and energy

  • Nutrition recommendations

Well Child Checks are also an important foundation to health and ensuring everything is on track and for preparing for the future. These checks are provided starting at 3 months of age.
